Your Job Description


We’re seeking a full-time Sales Assistant who’ll assist our Sales department with varied tasks, including data analysis, email and phone correspondence with new and existing customers, along with other clerical/administrative/manual tasks as required.

As a company we exhibit at over fifty events a year, with twenty of those being in the EMEA region, looked after by the Leicester office. In certain circumstances the candidate may be required to attend as part of the show staff. In the event this is the case, your travel, accommodation and expenses will be paid for by 10ZiG Technology.

Employment


This position is 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday 09:00am-5:00pm), with the occasional flexibility to attend tradeshows if required. Upon successful completion of a three-month probationary period, you will be offered a permanent contract of employment.


Required Education/Experience


Education/experience come in different forms, so whether you are a university graduate, or have gained customer service experience already then this position is yours to take. You have a strong command of spoken and written English, are well-mannered and well-spoken.

Your Job Description

  • You will work within the existing Technical Support team to help provide support to our customers via phone, email, chat, remote assistance.
  • You will report directly to the Technical Support Manager based in the Leicester, UK office.
  • You will be required to log customer support calls in detail within our database. You will take ownership of calls where possible and engage the relevant senior members of the team for further mitigation of issues.
  • Where required you will escalate calls between the customer, on issues that have not been resolved in a timely manner with assistance via the Technical Support Manager.
  • Draft, update and finalize product documentation and manuals.
  • Update firmware and images as required for our Shipping/Production team.
  • Test, document and provide feedback on software and firmware updates, in addition to new ideas on our prototypes and new product lines.
  • On occasions you may take part in meetings and voice conferences between departments, customers, business partners and vendors.
  • You will gain experience utilising the latest in many virtual technologies. VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, etc
  • You will become someone who can provide support where possible for our internal infrastructure’s hardware and software. Build test environments, build/configure/update/troubleshoot our servers and desktops; work on our network and phone system as needed.
  • There will be times when you assist or take on other duties as needed by the department. 10ZiG is a team and we all work together to achieve success.

The Right Person

  • A strong passion in IT, preferably somebody who may have spent time assisting others in IT problems
  • Eagerness to take on new tasks and technology either via training or self-taught by using tools and information available
  • A can do and go getter attitude who is able to work through obstacles and involve other senior team members where necessary
  • Technical, detail orientated, responsible, organised, self-motivated and the ability to organise and prioritise time effectively
  • Be courteous with excellent phone etiquette and have the confidence to deal with customers with varying priorities
  • Be a strong team-player but should also be self-motivated and able to manage their time and workload effectively
  • A good level of written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a busy, fast-paced work environment
  • Microsoft office experience (Word, Outlook, and Excel)


Essential abilities

  • Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, customers and partners
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly, clearly. Identify key issues and present information concisely to customers, partners and colleagues alike
  • Excellent time keeping and flexibility where required


Qualifications desired

  • GCSE/BTEC/NVQ Computing or Higher


Essential Technical Abilities

  • Ability to learn new technology quickly and break down individual parts of the puzzle to troubleshoot and fault find effectively
  • Computer hardware and experience of building PC’s and replacing components such as RAM/Disk


Desirable Technical Abilities

  • Installing, troubleshooting and using windows operating systems
  • Basic understanding to networking in particular routers/switches/firewalls
  • Knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 and associated Windows enterprise technologies such as AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)
  • Server and desktop virtualisation technology (VMware/Citrix/Microsoft)
  • Linux knowledge
